Executives As Coaches
Imagine a soccer team coached by an external coach who is only going to be present during the training sessions and then leaves right after. He wouldn’t watch the game, he just shows up for the next training session. Someone would probably ask themself why the team doesn’t become better.
Do you know a sports team that works like this? We neither. But we do know a lot of companies working this way. Just like every soccer coach stays with his team, so does every supervisor with his staff. He is the one who knows his employees, who leads them, who motivates them to do their job and, therefore, who should be the one to train them.
And furthermore: Systematic training supervisors communicate the exact topics that were coordinated with the leading managers before.
